Outdoor Education » Outdoor Education Overview
This is part of the school programme and takes place throughout the year. All children receive a three week block of swimming lessons; either in February – March or November – December.
In Term 4 we have a week-long Outdoor Education programme where the entire school staff and children are involved with various outdoor activities. These may include biking, jet boat rides, hiking, camping, climbing, with the aim of encouraging children to try new experiences in the outdoors.
In Term 1 our Year 7 students spend two nights camping at Moke Lake.
In Term 2 our Year 6 students spend a week on Stewart Island.
During the winter Yr 4-6 children have a 6 week ski programme, Yr 3 have three weeks of ice-skating and a one day Nordic ski programme, and Yr 0-2 children a 6 week ice-skating programme.
