Dear Parents / Caregivers

Welcome back to everyone, and a special welcome to our new students and families. At Queenstown Primary School we aim to provide an excellent education in an environment that is open, engaging and enjoyable for both the children and their parents. As a staff we value your support throughout the year. Please come in and meet your child’s new teacher. Children gain the most from school when there is open communication between parents and staff. Please contact us if you have any ideas or concerns.

Farewell 'Wicky'
Sadly we have to say goodbye to our much-loved school cat. She suffered an injury which meant she had to be put to sleep. Everyone will miss her as she has been a QPS icon for the past 17 years. She will be buried in a special place in our school grounds.

Junior School Swimming:
Lessons begin next week from Monday. All children will be required to have named togs, towel and a swimming cap. The pool is a constant 300C - brilliant conditions to learn to swim. Thanks to Brenda Wylie and her professional team who will be in the pool each day.

REMINDERS:
• Subway lunches are on Mondays and Fridays - $5.00. Pack details are on our website or available at the office. Send correct change in a named envelope.
• Sausage Sizzles (bread and sausage) $2.50 each, start again on Wednesdays every week. This is a fundraiser for our Year 6 Stewart Island Camp.
• Absences - please phone the school office before 9.00 am if your child is going to be away from school.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION:
This year we are returning to our old model of running our Outdoor Education programme in Week 9 (December 6 - 10) of Term 4. We have done this to provide greater opportunities for teachers to focus on their classroom programmes, establish routines and systems, and to ensure children have a settled and productive beginning to their school year.
